This June, Scendea had the pleasure of sponsoring and attending BIO 2022 in San Diego, CA.

From the 13th - 16th June, our Director Paul Cronin, Chief Financial Officer Charles Camp CGMA and Business Development Manager Stuart Hunter returned to Scendea’s largest event of the year, BIO 2022. During the week, our team were delighted to attend partnering meetings, organised via the One-on-One Partnering system, networking events, hosted by Biotechnology Innovation Organization and meetings with our valued clients.

We sat down with Stuart to discover his key highlights from BIO 2022 and top tips for future BIO conventions…

What were your key highlights from BIO 2022?

“Being my first live BIO event, it was great to meet everybody in-person. The event really allowed us to understand the needs of our clients and provided us the opportunity to discuss how we can further support their product development and regulatory activities, whilst also giving us the opportunity to meet new individuals within the SME space. Mackensie Vernetti and her team welcomed us with open arms and a key highlight of mine would have to be the mixer event aboard the USS Midway, an impressive and memorable networking experience.”

What are your top tips for attendees of BIO?

“The first and most important is organisation, I was lucky enough to be introduced to a number of experienced attendees and all agreed organisation is key. Another top tip is to consider your footwear choices, although this may seem trivial, the exhibition centre is huge and you can expect to rack up the daily step count so suitably comfortable shoes are very important. Finally, have fun! I had the pleasure of meeting some incredible people, and witnessed some amazing moments, I am already looking forward to attending BIO 2023.”
